Arjun Atwal Wins Wyndham Championship, makes history as 1st Indian Born Golfer to win on PGA Tour

Arjun Atwal made history in multiple ways on Sunday in Greensboro, North Carolina at the Wyndham Championship.  He became the first Indian born golfer to win on the PGA Tour ever.  He became the first Monday qualifier to win on the PGA Tour since 1986.  He became a wire to wire winner on the PGA Tour in claiming his first PGA Tour title.  This victory means the most to Arjun's career and joins his three victories on the European Tour and seven wins on the Asian Tour.  With this win, Arjun goes from having no PGA Tour membership to enjoying exempt membership for two years and joins the elite group of winners on the PGA Tour in 2010.  Congratulations Arjun!!!

Visit to the Volunteer State

The Nationwide Tour resumes action this week in the Volunteer State at the Knoxville News Sentinel Open.  Roberto Castro rides a hot streak that gave him Nationwide Tour Membership.  His finish in Springfield will gives him a start in Knoxville where he will be joined by David Mathis, Mark Anderson and Stephen Poole.  When the Nationwide Tour returns to play it will be in the final run of events as players try ot earn their status inside The 25.

Stuart Appleby Wins Greenbrier Classic with 59!!!

Stuart Appleby claimed victory at the inaugural Greenbrier Classic in Whilte Sulphur Springs, WV with a Final Round 59!  He joins Paul Goydos as the second Blue Giraffe client  to score a 59 on the PGA Tour within the last month and one of just five ever in PGA Tour history.  Starting the day seven strokes behind the leader he ran the tables on the Old White course with nine birdies and an eagle to shoot -11 on Sunday and claim the victory.  In a twist of fate, Appleby made his first ever visit to the Greenbrier in support of the tournament for its media day.  This marks his ninth career PGA Tour win.

Richard S. Johnson Triumphs in Sweden

Richard S. Johnson hit a 30-foot birdie putt on the 18th green at  to win the Nordea Scandanavian Masters by one stroke over Argentine, Rafa Echenique. The title is Johnson's second on the European Tour and a sweet one for the native Swede who called the win in front of the Stockholm crowd, "Epic".  The win was made sweet as Richard had good friend and Swedish radio DJ, Anders Timmell, on the bag as his full-time caddie, Lance Ten Broeck, took the week off to play himself in the British Senior Open.

Robert Castro 2nd in Wichita

Roberto Castro recorded his best Nationwide Tour finish to date, finishing as the runner-up in at the Wichita Open.  In only three Nationwide Tour events, he has earned more than $71,000 to gain membership to the Nationwide Tour and he is currently #57 on the money list.  He earned his way into Wichita with a 19th place finish in Omaha after Monday Qualifying to get into that event.  Arjun Atwal and Stephen Poole both enjoyed 17th place fininshes in Wichita and will look for better things in Springfield.
